Elk City Idaho Community

Elk City is a friendly, and small community located in the largest county in Idaho, Idaho County. The community was named for Big Elk Creek, and started as a mining town, but quickly became a logging community. Elk City currently has a population of 320, which is approximate, and fluxuates depending on the season. Located an hour from Elk City is Dixie, Idaho, and just 20 minutes away are Red River, and Red River Hotsprings. Enjoy the small town atmosphere, where hunting and fishing are in abundance--your car drives you here, but your heart brings you back!
